Alright sister and all you other bloggers who are into flowers - WHAT is this? I do not ever remember planting this yet it is in three clumps in my garden. The blooms open in the evening and have a scent similar to phlox. Sorry the first pic is fuzzy, was trying to get the center of the flower to show the star like appearance. The second shot is better. I hope it is not a weed I would hate to pull it up. lol. Thanks. Also the flowers are no more then an inch and a half wide. So I know it is not the moon flower.

  1. Not a clue, but it certainly is pretty! I'd leave it, weed or no. :-)

There's a "wildflowers of Eastern Ontario" site I often check for reference, but our flora might be a bit different in some respects, I don't know. Also it's not easy to find what you're looking for on that site--it's colour coded, but there are no thumbnails of the flowers, you have to click individually and some the lists are LONG!

  2. Other than flower I have no idea - I am not too good at identifying plants. There are sites online that you can use to identify flowers - I am not sure what it is to even try and start looking but I looked in google and there are a lot of flower identification sites. It can't hurt to try that!

  3. Hmmm, we are stumped! Not sure what it is.

  4. I thought I knew, but when I checked the book, either the petals were wrong for this flower, or the bladder thingy was wrong for that one. I vote for leaving it a while longer. Of course, if it turns out to be a weed, you can make a lot of work for yourself that way... (Ask me about the motherwort...)

  6. I have a wildflower just like that but it blooms white. I'll have to double check since it's from one of those "wildflower" mix seed packets.

  7. Hi Darlene,
What a lovely flower, wish I could tell you the name, but sadly I can not.
Please keep it as it is pretty.
    Have a good day.

  8. I am as ignorant as all the rest, but I suggest you keep it because it is pretty, it opens at night, and there aren't a lot of blue blossoming flowers.
