"PEEPERS"! They have awakened from their long winter slumber. They are still not very numerous, but with the warmer days and nights they will all come out and sing. One year hub came home during the day and with amazement aked me if I heard all the birds. HaHa I explained to him what they were, peepers and not birds. If you have never seen one it is hard to believe that something that tiny can make that much noise. But put hundreds or even thousands together and what a sound.
Tomorrow I am going to try and get my onion sets in. This is a first time for me planting onions, so who knows what will happen. I started some marigold seeds, and cantelope, we shall see.
Otherwise nothing new here at the Rustic, what's new will everyone else out there? SMILE

  1. We have the peepers out now too, and lots of the first spring flowers. The trees are about to blossom wildly. The crews are around chopping and mulching up the trees and boughs that fell during the two back-to-back heavy snowstorms we had.

  2. We don't really have any peepers by us - in late summer we get the annual cicada's in the trees buzzing but most of the time it is just birds and ducks.

  3. Haven't heard the peepers yet down here, but the chipmunks came out of hibernation! We will be getting some 70 degree weather. I hope to work the kitchen garden and get some peas in.

  4. We haven't heard the peepers yet either! Can't wait though! It's so nice falling asleep listening to them.

  5. Peepers make a wonderful spring sound just when you think winter will never go away!
