Can it be far behind? Hubby saw his first pair of buzzards today. They were feasting on road kill. bet they were hungry after their long journey. Plus as I was coming in from chores I heard a robin!! Didn't see it due to it was in the woods. But I heard it and that is good enough for me.

They also say higher temps this week, almost near sixty. Plus rain, which if anyone who lives in the rural areas knows this will mean flooding and MUD. Right now all the walkways that were made for us to reach the barn etc are heaving, and sinking, so it is a mine field heading to the barn. One minute you are on sold ground the next sunk into the ground a few inches. Good way to twist and ankle. Especially wearing the dreaded barn boots. But have hope things may be dryer come May! 1. Sounds interesting to say the least at your place. We had sun on Saturday. Enough that we worked just a bit on our jungle. Today, we got our first snow of the season. Lasted a couple of hours but nothing stuck. Just big flakes to entertain the cats and me.

  2. I have been watching for the flock of buzzards that hang around the Olentangy River; have not seen them yet. I did have a red-winged blackbird at the feeder on the 7th. Which has been my barometer for Spring ever since my college biology professor said they were the first migratory birds to come through our neck of the woods.

  4. We have temps in the 50's this week. It's absolutely amazing! But Michigan is still prone to snow and ice through April, so I'm not holding my breath (yes, I am).
