Wow we are having a summer, finally after many yeas of crappy ones. My niece is staying with me for the summer interning at Meadville hospital. So to keep in shape she has me walking. We walk our road pretty much every night. And that is saying alot what with the hot temperatures and the deer flies. But keep going farther each week. We walked to the end of the road the last few nights which comes out to about three miles. So today we decided to try a trail in Meadville. It is called the Earnst Trail, and we loved it. A beautiful blacktopped trail, with scenery to match. It is a five mile trail one way. We decided to walk to the two mile marker, then back. That last mile was tough, my legs became heavy and I could feel blisters forming. But we are proud to say we did four miles, we plan on going back next weekend. Told Corrie by the end of her stay I would love to try and get to the end and back, don't know if this old body can do it but with better shoes will give it a try. May take all day lol. Smile

  1. Good for you !!! I need to start walking around again. When I was younger, I worked at Yellowstone Nat'l Park one Summer. Took a hike that said it was three miles. Silly me ... I thought that meant round trip. Nope ... three miles each way and it was staight up ... to some lake that was so high up that it was cold. We looked around and started to walk back down the hill. Oh to be young again ...

  2. It is good that you are having a real summer - honestly I prefer the cool ones, but I know most people like the heat! And wow, that sounds like a lot of walking to me - very impressive!!
