Miracles do happen. Back in July I posted that my 25 year old goose disappeared. I have wondered what could have happened to her, did she get sick and die or some stray dog or coyote get her? My neighbor was coming down the main road and there all alone in a field stood a grey goose. She stopped and called "Gertie" and she answered. So she came and got me and took me there I knew from a distance it was my goose!!! I started walking across the field and called her and she gave me a loud honk, then fluffed her feathers. I picked her up and she started eating out of the can of grain I had brought along. She is alot thinner and alittle rough around the edges but she is home again. Gertie is quite the tough old girl. She is all comfy bedded down in a stall, she will stay there a few days to get her bearings back again. And I hope this is the one and only time she ventures off the place.
My niece and I have been walking for eight weeks now with some wt. loss and firming, but this week is raining so we are doing the treadmill. I wondered why we were both working up such a sweat when we have gotten fit, come to find out the treadmill is set on incline, dud no wonder we are pooped!! But it is satisfying to work up a good sweat.
Fall is just around the corner, can tell by the cooler evenings. Tomatoes are coming in by the ton and have started giving some to friends, Heather would you like some yellow and white eating tomatoes, let me know. That and cukes and peppers are doing great, everything else zip.
SMILE I am.

  4. Well, if the treadmill is set for incline, then you are working a different set of muscles, and getting a really good workout!
I wonder how long geese live?

  5. Thanks, but the tomatoes are coming in now. Maybe there is still hope for Fat Ash. He's been gone for a while now. Ashes was a docile one. Too fat to be just carried away. I hope no one "popped" him.
