Right before the Jan. thaw started our deck looked like the first photo. So my better half decided to take and snow blow everything off. A ton of snow with a layer of ice in between. So the next two photos are of him doing just that! So then we entered our Jan. thaw, which so far is going into it's second week. And by the end of the week temps are hitting the forties! No complaints from me, or anyone else in the Great Lakes Region. From a height of just below my hips the snow has melted and compacted down to only ankle deep snow. And at the barn we have gotten the dreaded M word. MUD! So barn boots are a must.

Now as long as the plants don't say "hey let's sprout, since the weather is warm". They then send out their shoots and WHAM head right back into Winter. This would not be good, so keep your fingers crossed.

  1. I've gotten zero snow so far ...
Last year was the big snow year with 18 ins. Actually had a white Holiday ...

Thanks for sharing your photos ..

  2. Hi Uncle Geo :) Tell Kia and Momma Kitty that Noll is giving them an award. Stop by to pick it up.
