More on the saga of "Gertie" my goose. As I posted awhile ago, after being lost and presumed dead, she was found and brought back home. But she has been lonely without any other fowl. The other day I solved that by finally finding her a male white duck. This now makes the fourth male duck she has had. He was at this home that raised them to butcher and feed to their dogs! I told him you are quite the lucky fella, as you have a safe, warm home, all the grain and bread you can eat and a beautiful female! Even though she is a goose!! They are settling in togther, he still nervous, So I am going to have to give him human contact. Today I went in and after much chasing through the stall I caught him. Got him finaaly calm in my arms but not before he wacked me a good one with his wing in my mouth. Actually raised a welt on the inside of my lip. But hopefully once he has calmed down I can snap some photos. His name is "Dickie Duck II" Smile I know Gertie is.
